hello & welcome to the alyeska pipeline project blog project. this is where i will periodically type out ideas and things that i have, and progress i make relating to the record i am making about the trans-alaska pipeline system (TAPS). maybe sometimes i'll post images or whatever, too. i don't know. my friend theaster said it would be a good idea to start a blog about this project and i think he was right. i'm trying to raise in the neighborhood of $7,000 to get this done (car rental, fuel, equipment, etc.).

here is a description of the project. the budget is not included in this description but if you're interested in contributing financially please e.mail healthandbeauty@indiecred.com and i'm happy to send along an itemized budget.

to learn about the trans-alaska pipeline system:

i suggest James P. Roscow's excellent book 800 Miles to Valdez: The Building of the Alaska Pipeline (search addall.com), which is the definitive history on the construction project. there is also a PBS documentary entitled The Alaska Pipeline, which features some good if brief interviews with folks who were involved.

here is the official Alyeska Pipeline Service Company site.
here is the wiki.
